Our Community Partnership

CHOICE, which stands for “Choosing to Help Others In our Community Excel”, is a nonprofit community organization headquartered in Uniontown, Alabama.  As part of its mission “to provide charitable and educational resources to its communities”, CHOICE has devoted itself to working with the Perry County School System to ensure students have access to technology resources. CHOICE partnered with AT&T to help secure a donation of $14,000 towards the purchase of ipads for the students.

In addition, CHOICE has provided other assistance as follows:

  • Donated $5,000 to support the school system’s efforts to provide mobile internet access during the COVID-19 school closure,
  • Helped provide school supplies,
  • Offered afterschool enrichment and summer camps, and
  • Provided human and financial capital to student organizations such as FBLA and HOSA.

CHOICE was founded by Robert C. Hatch High graduate Emefa Butler (Class of 2000) who shares her passion not only within the school system but in the community as well.
